Scott Goodmanson’s family arrived more than 90 years ago on the Langford Lake property where his parents still live today. Goldstream Avenue was just a wagon trail then. Scott grew up surrounded by the woods on the north shore of the lake.
As a child, Scott attended Ruth King, Spencer and Belmont schools. He was a cub, scout and air cadet in the Western Communities.
Scott developed a passion for rowing at Belmont Secondary, which led him to numerous provincial and national championships, international competitions and rowing for Team Canada in the 1994 Commonwealth Regatta. He has been involved in rowing as a competitor, coach and officiator for 30 years.
In that time, Scott went into landscaping to support his training and post-secondary studies. He has owned and operated Good Ponds Landscape and Garden since 2006.
Scott and his wife of seven years Katy met swing dancing in 2010. They are both avid dancers, and Scott was a founding member of the Swing Dance Society of Victoria, where he served on the board for eight years. Scott and Katy have been married since 2015 and have one daughter.
